For 4 people
- 450g frozen cranberries
- 290ml water
- 340g sugar
- ½ orange, juice only or 3 tbsp port.
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Put the sugar in a heavy-based saucepan. Add the water and heat gently until the sugar dissloves.
- Add the cranberries and bring up to a simmer add the orange or port if used, and cinnamon stick.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the cranberries have burst and are tender.
- Leave to cool.
