Pears Poached In Red Wine
For 2 people. Cooking time: 20 min.
- 200 ml red wine
- 50 g brown sugar
- 2 whole star anise
- 2 pears peeled and cored
- 3 tablespoons of double cream
- In a pan gently together the red wine, sugar and star anise until gently simmering.
- Add the pears and gently poach for 5-10 minutes until tender.
- To serve, place the pear into a bowl with the cooking liquor and a dollop of the freshly whipped double cream.
