Pears poached in Cranberry juice

Ingredients

  • 12 small pears
  • 1 litre of cranberry juice
  • 2 star anise
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 60 g soft brown sugar

Method

  1. Boil cranberry juice with sugar and spices in a large saucepan.
  2. Peel the pears and poach them in the juice about 20 minutes, then remove from heat, serve warm or cold.
